EPOKE EVOLVE Structure & Texture Paste | Resin Texture Paste for Artists

If you work with resin, you already know that flat surfaces have limits. The EPOKE EVOLVE structure paste gives artists, furniture makers, and surface designers a way to build real, three-dimensional depth into their work. It is a 2-part resin texture paste formulated to bond with wood, concrete, metal, and cured resin, including vertical surfaces where standard pastes sag and fail.

Whether you are creating ocean art texture effects with raised wave ridges, sealing a live-edge wood slab before a pour, or building sculptural wall panels, EVOLVE holds its shape, cures hard, and takes pigment cleanly.

This page covers what EVOLVE is, how it works, who it is for, and what to expect from your first application.

What Is EPOKE EVOLVE Structure & Texture Paste?

EPOKE EVOLVE is a 2-part, resin-grade evolve-texture-paste produced by Fortune Chemie. It is designed for both aesthetic and functional use. The two components are mixed together before application, producing a thick, workable paste that bonds to a wide range of surfaces and holds vertical placement without dripping.

Once cured, EVOLVE is hard, durable, and sandable. It works as a standalone textured finish or as a base layer for resin coatings.

Who Uses Resin Texture Paste?

A structure paste serves a wide range of users. Here is where EPOKE EVOLVE fits into real workflows:

Resin Artists Artists building geode panels, ocean art texture effects, and abstract dimensional pieces use structure paste to create raised ridges, peaks, and sculpted forms before pouring resin over the top. EVOLVE layers well, which means you build up height gradually without the paste collapsing between coats.

Furniture Makers and Woodworkers Live-edge slabs and reclaimed wood frequently have cracks, knots, and voids. Before a resin pour, those gaps need to be sealed. EPOKE EVOLVE bonds tightly to wood and fills irregular shapes cleanly, then cures to a finish ready for sanding or resin coating.

Interior Designers and DIY Creators Textured wall panels, bespoke mirrors, and dimensional home décor pieces all benefit from a paste that holds on vertical surfaces. EPOKE EVOLVE works on walls and upright panels without specialist equipment.

Mixed-Media Artists Artists combining resin with paint, foil, glitter, and concrete texture often need a paste that bridges different materials. Because EPOKE EVOLVE adheres to wood, concrete, and metal, it works as a structural base across mixed-surface projects.

How to Apply EPOKE EVOLVE Structure Paste

The application process is straightforward. No specialist training is required, but following the correct mixing ratio matters for a full, hard cure.

Step 1: Mix the Two Components Combine Part A and Part B in the 1:1 ratioby weight. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is uniform. Do not guess the ratio; an off-ratio mix will not cure correctly.

Step 2 : Mix in the Pigments All of EPOKE’s Range of Pigment pastes are compatible with EPOKE EVOLVE .

Step 3: Apply to Your Surface Use a palette knife, spatula, or gloved hands to apply the paste. EVOLVE is thick enough to hold peaks and ridges. For ocean art texture effects, drag the paste into wave-like formations before it begins to set. Work in sections if you are covering a large area.

Step 4: Layer if Needed For higher relief, allow the first layer to partially set and apply a second coat. EVOLVE bonds well to itself between layers.

Step 5: Allow Full Cure Cure time depends on ambient temperature and humidity. Warmer, drier conditions speed curing. Avoid disturbing the surface during cure.

Step 6: Sand, Paint, or Coat with Resin Once fully cured, EVOLVE sands cleanly. Coat it with any EPOKE resin for a glossy or satin finish.

EVOLVE for Ocean Art Texture: A Practical Guide

Ocean art is one of the most searched resin techniques in India and internationally. The signature look, raised wave crests, layered tide lines, and textured foam effects, requires a paste that holds shape under pressure and accepts white and aquamarine pigments without bleeding.

EVOLVE works well for this application for three specific reasons:

  • The thick, non-sag formula holds wave ridges and crest shapes without slumping while the paste sets.
  • The white base of the paste supports accurate colour rendering when you blend EPOKE opaque pigments like Ultra White, Aquamarine, and Nile Blue directly into the paste before application.
  • The hard cure bonds the textured layer firmly to the base board, so the finished piece does not delaminate or crack over time.

For a standard ocean art texture panel, many artists apply EVOLVE first to build the wave structure, allow it to cure, then pour EFX Geode Resin or Art Resin over the surface, using pigments to create the water depth effect.

EVOLVE as a Structure Paste for Wood and Concrete

Beyond art applications, EVOLVE serves as a functional structure paste in woodworking and home repair contexts.

Wood Crack Filling Natural wood slabs often have checks, knots, and hairline cracks that need to be filled before a resin topcoat. Epoxy-based pastes, including EVOLVE, bond to wood fibres and cure with very low shrinkage. This means the filled area stays level with the surrounding surface after sanding, rather than sinking as some polymer fillers do.

Concrete Surface Repair EVOLVE bonds to concrete, making it a practical option for repairing surface voids and chips in decorative concrete panels before finishing with resin or paint.

Metal Bonding Adhesion to metal surfaces means EVOLVE works in mixed-material assemblies, for example, bonding a textured resin panel to a metal frame, or filling gaps in a metalwork piece before surface coating.

FAQs

1. Is EPOKE EVOLVE the same as a standard acrylic texture paste?

No. EVOLVE is a 2-part epoxy-based structure paste, not an acrylic product. Acrylic texture pastes are water-based and generally not compatible with resin coatings because moisture trapped in the paste can cause adhesion failures and cloudiness. EVOLVE is resin-grade, which means it is designed to be overcoated with EPOKE resins without bonding issues.

2. Do I need to seal EVOLVE before pouring resin over it?

No additional sealing coat is required in most cases. Because EVOLVE is resin-based, EPOKE resins bond directly to its cured surface.

3. How thick a layer of resin texture paste works on a vertical surface?

EVOLVE holds well on vertical surfaces at typical application thicknesses of 3mm to 5mm per layer. For very high-relief builds above 10mm, apply in two or more layers rather than a single thick coat. This avoids exothermic heat buildup and ensures the paste cures evenly throughout.

4: What pigments work best for ocean art texture using EVOLVE?

EPOKE opaque pigments in Ultra White, Aquamarine, Nile Blue, and Ultramarine Blue are the most used colours for ocean art texture applications. Mix these directly into the EVOLVE paste before application, or apply them as a pigmented resin layer over the cured EVOLVE structure.

5: Is EVOLVE available in India with fast shipping?

Yes. Epokeart ships all products including EVOLVE across India. Orders above Rs. 6,000 qualify for free shipping. The 100g and 2kg packs are both in stock and available for direct purchase through the Epokeart website.
